Kinja'd!!!

Crutches for a week (or more), no running for over a month. The good leg is on the left.

Luckily no bone damage. I tore a bunch of ligaments in my ankle though. Could have been worse.

I was doing pre season workouts with my swim team. We were running sprints, one of the guys who had just finished running threw his water bottle in my path. I didn't see it, stepped on it, and my ankle twisted inward (bottom of foot rotated counterclockwise on the y-axis). There was a nasty sound. My coach drove me up to the physical trainers officeand I put some ice on it. My coach determined it was bad enough to warrant him driving me home. Got home, mother said we were going to urgent care. No bone damage, but I have quite a few torn ligaments. I'm not allowed to drive for 2 weeks.

I was waiting for someone to say that. I know they are long, I just haven't had the time. The one that is bad has been in pain for a week (I roundhouse kicked a table - long story).

Installing an engine with only one foot is going to be "interesting." Stupid ankle.

I know, I seriously want a manual transmission but I don't have the funds for the $1500 - $2000 swap.

Edit: thanks

Damn! That made my ankle hurt just reading that! I think, out of everything, I'd be more hurt by the no driving. Even at normal street speed, I just enjoy driving.

That hurts a lot. Take it from someone who had the worst level of ligament tear without actually having it dislocate. TRUST your PT.

Do all the workouts daily, do your ABC's, and keep up on it as much as you can. It hurts like a bitch, but just do it and you will have a faster recovery. I was out for a long time on physical activity because of my ankle, and it's significantly weaker forever due to the injury I had, so the sooner you do a good job at PT the better.

looks like you can still ride a motorcycle (left hand - clutch, check; right hand - throttle and front brake, check; left foot - shift lever, check), so it could be a lot worse.
